| Malta is probably best known these days as a holiday destination – its fine weather, nice beaches and warm, clear waters make it a prime location to relax and unwind. There’s more to Malta than the sun, sea and sand, though. For an island of its size, it has a very influential place in history, and a truly unique character born out of the variety of nationalities that have, in the past, called it their own. It is home to some fascinating historical sites, some beautiful seaside towns and a delicious, largely Sicilian-inspired cuisine.
