Little Angels - A new home for them
Location: Olivos, (surburb of) Buenos Aires
This NGO consists of three homes for children in the age of 3 to 13 years old and who have been infected with HIV or who are suffering from AIDS. In every home there are about 10 children living and playing together and there is a great group of volunteers who are taking care of the children. The children have all different histories and some of them are placed in this project by judges who decided that their home was no longer a suitable place to live. Some of them are placed with their brothers and sisters, some of them are sick, but overall they are just normal children who like to have fun.
Volunteers can help the children with their daily tasks or help the “professional” volunteers with taking care of the children. The project is growing and is planning to open also a home for older children who find themselves in the same circumstances. Children are quite vulnerable and attach themselves easily to the volunteers, the minimum commitment to this project is two months. Since the homes are located in the suburbs of Buenos Aires city, the school has a special HOMESTAY-family who is living close to the project.
